Today is a wonderful and exciting day in my writing journey: my name is in print for the very first time!
My name is in print.
In print.
Like officially.
Like real deal in a magazine!
I’m jumping and twirling and can’t stop smiling. This is a huge step and personal victory! Over the past few years, I’ve gone from literally hiding my writing to publishing it for the world to see. I can’t put into words what this moment means to me.
My essay titled “Dear Emily, Who is Dead” is available now to read through Exponent II magazine. Exponent II is an amazing space for Mormon women and gender minorities across the faith spectrum to discuss feminist issues, find community, and share lived experiences. I’m so grateful to be apart of this community!

Yes, this is behind a paywall and no, it won’t be published anywhere else. Exponent II is a homegrown magazine started in 1974 by a group of Mormon feminist women in Boston. It is a tribute to the original Women’s Exponent, (which I wrote about earlier this year) the early Relief Society’s publication for Mormon women sharing their stories and organizing for reform. Now 50 years later the tradition continues and it has grown into such a beautiful and impactful space. Please consider subscribing (only $12 for an entire year of digital content) or buying this single physical issue to support this important work. (Plus this might not be the last time you see my work in Exponent for the year… you never know…)
Thank you for being on this journey with me. Thank you for all the support and love! Please enjoy “Dear Emily, Who is Dead” and all the other amazing writing and artwork in Exponent II, Summer 2024.
Ok I had to subscribe for this! 🤩
Read it a few days ago when my issue was delivered! It was great. Congratulations!
